Post & Beam was created in 2020 by Far Niente Wine Estates, a family of California wineries that also includes Far Niente, Nickel & Nickel, Dolce, EnRoute, and Bella Union. The label draws its name from the sturdy timber-frame barns found across the American countryside, reflecting a philosophy built on approachable, classically made wines. Winemaker Michael Accurso, a Napa Valley native who also crafts wines for the estate's EnRoute label, oversees production, bringing lifelong regional knowledge to a brand designed as an entry point into the Far Niente portfolio.

This Cabernet Sauvignon is predominantly cabernet sauvignon, rounded out with small portions of merlot, petit verdot, and cabernet franc sourced from vineyards across Napa Valley. After fermentation, the wine spends close to two years aging in a combination of French and Hungarian oak barrels, a process that builds structure while folding in gentle notes of spice and toast. The result is a wine built for immediate enjoyment without sacrificing depth.

The nose shows dark plum, cassis, and briar fruit alongside notes of graphite, cedar, and toasted cocoa. On the palate, the wine is round and full, layered with blackberry and black cherry flavors, finishing with soft, resolved tannins and hints of vanilla and mocha. Its balance of richness and approachability makes it a natural match for grilled steak, braised short ribs, or aged cheeses.
