2022 Robert Chevillon - Nuits St. Georges Roncieres (750ml) [PRE ARRIVAL]

Domaine Robert Chevillon is a fifth-generation family estate in Nuits-Saint-Georges, now run by brothers Bertrand and Denis, whose father Robert continues to lend a hand at the domaine that carries his name. Long considered one of the appellation's most consistent producers, the family farms an unusually wide range of Nuits-Saint-Georges parcels, giving them a rare command over the village's many distinct terroirs, from lighter, perfumed sites to firmer, more structured ones like Roncières.

Roncières sits in the southern part of the appellation, facing east-southeast at an elevation between 250 and 300 meters, a little over a hectare in size. The 2022 growing season brought a June hailstorm to the region, though the parcel emerged largely unaffected. Fruit was hand harvested and destemmed, fermented with extended maceration, then aged in barrel, giving the wine its characteristic depth and firm, mineral-driven backbone.

The nose shows black cherry, raspberry, and iodine, with light violet and orange peel lifting the aromatics. The palate is silky and finely structured, with a caressing texture that firms up toward a mineral, long finish. Serve alongside seared duck breast, herb-crusted pork loin, or aged Comté.
