Domaine Amélie & Charles Sparr came together in 2017, uniting two Alsatian winegrowing lines. Amélie descends from the Buecher family's long vigneron heritage, while Charles carries the Sparr name back twelve generations to a family with Scandinavian roots stretching to the twelfth century. After his family's historic négociant business was sold in 2007, Charles kept a parcel of vines and built the couple's estate around it, converting the vineyards to organic and eventually biodynamic farming, now certified by Demeter.

Carpe Diem draws from the Altenbourg and Rosenberg sites, planted on Alsace's clay-limestone soils and chosen for favorable sun exposure and drainage. The grapes are hand-harvested, gently destemmed, and fermented in stainless steel before the wine matures in Stockinger barrels without any new oak, a combination meant to protect the fruit's clarity and lift.

The wine pours a translucent ruby and opens with red cherry, raspberry, and delicate notes of rose and violet, underscored by a touch of earth and minerality. The palate is medium-bodied and juicy, carried by bright acidity and fine-grained tannins, finishing clean with a hint of spice. It suits game, roast red meats, cheese, or quail with orange.
