2023 Enfield Wine Co. Cabernet Franc · Sonoma Coast

Producer Enfield Wine Co. (John Lockwood & Amy Seese)
Vintage 2023
Region Sonoma Coast, California
Grape Cabernet Franc
Vineyard Waterhorse Ridge
ABV 13.4%
Style Low-intervention · unfined & unfiltered

Enfield is the family project of John Lockwood and Amy Seese — Lockwood cut his teeth farming Sonoma Coast and Russian River sites under Ehren Jordan at Failla before striking out on his own in 2010 — and the house style is all about low-intervention wines of personality and place. Sourced from young vines at the cool, high Waterhorse Ridge site, this is Enfield's self-described "ultimate bistro wine": juicy, spicy, lightly floral and herbaceous, and playfully rustic. Look for red plum, pink peppercorn, lavender, and rosemary oil over lightly chalky tannins and a medium, crunchy-fruited finish. At just 13.4%, it's fresh, food-loving, and made for the table — cheese, bread, pâté, and rich country cooking. Will age and soften nicely over the next 2–3 years.

Appellation: Sonoma Coast
