Familia Zuccardi is a third-generation, family-owned winery that has helped define modern Argentine winemaking since Alberto Zuccardi first planted vines near Mendoza in the 1960s. His grandson, Sebastián Zuccardi, now leads the estate's exploration of the Uco Valley's varied soils, pursuing wines that express place over polish. The family is also known for its community investment in the region, supporting local schools and healthcare initiatives alongside its viticultural work.

Concreto is sourced from the rocky, calcareous plots of Paraje Altamira and Gualtallary in the Uco Valley, at roughly 1,100 meters above sea level. The grapes undergo partial whole-cluster fermentation with native yeasts, followed by extended maceration. Both fermentation and aging take place entirely in concrete vessels without epoxy lining, a deliberate choice that avoids oak influence and allows the wine to reflect its stony terroir with unusual clarity and textural precision.

This Malbec opens with violet, blueberry, and black plum aromas, joined by notes of cocoa and wild herb. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied, with a chalky, mineral-driven texture and firm, well-integrated tannins that give the wine real structure without heaviness. Fresh acidity keeps it lively through a long finish. It pairs beautifully with grilled steak, lamb chops, or aged hard cheeses.

94 Points
"As ever, the 2023 Concreto Malbec represents the Zuccardi style and philosophy as efficiently as possible at an aggressively reasonable price point. A blend of fruit from calcareous soils in Altamira and Gualtallary, it leads with a simmering, contained b..."
