The Honig family purchased their sixty eight acre Rutherford vineyard in 1964, initially selling fruit to neighboring wineries before releasing their first Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc in 1980 to immediate acclaim. Michael Honig took over the winery's management in 1984 at just twenty two years old and has since guided it from a small garage operation into a respected estate of twenty five people. Winemaker Kristin Belair focuses the winery's efforts on just two varietals, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon, using solar power and sustainable farming to let each vineyard's character shine through.

The grapes for this bottling are picked during cool overnight and early morning hours to lock in delicate aromatics, then whole cluster pressed before the juice settles and ferments in stainless steel at moderately cool temperatures. The wine rests briefly on light lees prior to blending and bottling, a technique that adds subtle texture without introducing any oak influence. The final blend leans almost entirely on Sauvignon Blanc, rounded out by small portions of Sémillon and Muscat.

Bright floral, pear, and citrus aromas lead into a lively palate marked by grapefruit, lemongrass, and kaffir lime, with tropical undertones and a lingering note of honeysuckle. The finish is crisp and refreshing, true to the variety's zesty character. This wine pairs nicely with grilled fish, a fresh green salad, or a simple goat cheese tart.
