2023 Michel Bouzereau - Bourgogne Cote d'Or Blanc Clos du Moulin (750ml)
The open secret of the Bouzereau range — a Bourgogne in name only, grown in the heart of Meursault village from a one-hectare walled parcel acquired by Jean-Baptiste Bouzereau in 2017. Situated just meters from the official Meursault appellation line, adjacent to Les Petits Charrons and Les Chevalières, from 40-year-old vines on alluvial soils; aged one year in barrel with 20% new oak, then 2–4 months in tank before bottling. Rich and nuanced but crisply fresh — ripe pear and nectarine fruit aromas with notes of butter and spice that hint at its Meursault origins; the texture is gratifyingly dense but not heavy, with impressive length for a wine at this level. Honeysuckle, lemon, and nuttiness on the nose, with a rich mid-palate of lemon pastry and roasted nuts. A village-quality Meursault at a regional price — one of Burgundy's most compelling insider values. Drink now–2030
