Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey is the husband and wife team of Pierre-Yves Colin, eldest son of Marc Colin, and Caroline Morey. After working at his father's domaine until 2005, Pierre-Yves struck out on his own, building a domaine from vineyards inherited by both families across Chassagne, Saint-Aubin, Puligny and Meursault. His sons Mathis and Clément have since joined, and the estate is now considered among the finest producers of white Burgundy anywhere.

This Bourgogne Blanc is sourced mainly from parcels just outside the borders of Chassagne and Puligny, giving it a clear line of sight into the domaine's precise style at an accessible price. The grapes are whole-bunch pressed and fermented with native yeasts, then aged in larger demi-muid barrels without any lees stirring. The wines are bottled with extra-long corks and wax-sealed to guard against premature oxidation.

The wine opens with fresh pear, green apple, hazelnut and warm bread on the nose. The palate is medium bodied, satiny and finely structured, with lively acidity carrying through to a long, saline finish. It shows real clarity and detail for a wine at this level. Serve it with grilled sardines, roast chicken, or a mild sheep's cheese.
