Patricia Green Cellars was built on the winemaking partnership of Patty Green and Jim Anderson, whose collaboration became one of the longest running winemaking duos in Oregon. Patty passed away unexpectedly in 2017, and Jim has continued to lead the winery in her honor, staying true to her hands off, unpretentious approach to farming and winemaking that never chased acclaim but earned it anyway. The winery is known for producing an unusually large number of small lot, single vineyard Pinot Noirs each vintage.

Lia's Vineyard sits within the Chehalem Mountains AVA and has long been one of Patricia Green's signature single vineyard bottlings, prized for a lighter, more lifted style than some of the winery's other sites. The 2023 vintage marks the final release from this particular vineyard designation. Fruit here is handled with the same meticulous, block by block philosophy the winery applies across its portfolio, aiming to let the site's natural character come through with a gentle touch in the cellar.

This Pinot Noir shows a transparent medium ruby color with red cherry, wet stone, and strawberry character, framed by bright, zesty acidity. The wine is medium bodied and approachable, drinking well in its youth rather than demanding long cellaring. It pairs nicely with roast duck, grilled salmon, or a simple mushroom tart.

93 Points
"A transparent medium ruby color, the 2023 Pinot Noir Lia's Vineyard is the more lifted of these wines from the Chehalem Mountains. It’s rosy, with red cherries, wet stones, and bright highlights, but all ripe and very pretty. It’s snappy and medium-bodied, with a more strawberry-noted feel and zesty saltiness that accentuates its approachable character. This is a more lightweight offering that should be enjoyed over the next 5-7 years."
