2023 Pine Ridge Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (750ml)

Pine Ridge Vineyards was founded in 1978 and has since invested in 160 acres of estate vineyards, nearly a third of them in the winery's home appellation of Stags Leap District. Over the decades Pine Ridge built a reputation for crafting Cabernet Sauvignon that reflects Napa Valley's full range of terroir, blending fruit from multiple prized sites rather than relying on a single vineyard. This flagship bottling remains the clearest expression of that house philosophy.

The 2023 vintage draws on estate fruit from Stags Leap, Howell Mountain, Oakville, Rutherford, and Carneros, supplemented by select growers near the winery's home base. A cool, wet winter delayed bud break and extended the growing season, giving the grapes unusually long hang time without disease pressure, conditions the winery considers a once in a decade combination. The wine ages eighteen months in a mix of new French and American oak, a technique that builds structure while layering in spice.

The nose shows Hungarian baking spice, blueberry bramble, and maraschino cherry, with cocoa threading through a plush palate of blackberry, mandarin, and slate. Bright acidity and polished tannins carry the finish. This wine pairs well with pork loin, grilled venison, or a rich mushroom risotto.
