Stags' Leap Winery traces its roots to 1893, with the estate’s first vintage produced on a property famed for its 1892 stone manor nestled in the intimate Stags Leap area of Napa Valley. The 2023 Napa Valley Chardonnay draws primarily from the cool, fog-influenced Carneros AVA in southern Napa, with a smaller portion from Oak Knoll, both benefiting from San Pablo Bay fog that preserves freshness through the growing season. Grapes are whole-cluster pressed, then fermented and aged partly in stainless steel and partly in French oak, with weekly lees stirring adding texture and no malolactic fermentation to keep acidity intact.

The wine presents a fragrant, layered aroma profile: green apple, lemongrass, lychee, and jasmine, interwoven with coriander spice and lime peel. On the palate, it is lively yet creamy, delivering lemon citron, white peach, and Asian pear, touched by a hint of lanolin. The finish is long, bright, and mineral-driven, underscoring its crisp acidity and poised structure.
