2023 Terenzuola - Vermentino Colli di Lunii DOC Fosso di Corsano (750ml)

Terenzuola traces back to the early 1930s, when Luigi Giuliani returned from New York after the Great Depression and bought a small hillside property near Fosdinovo, in the borderland between Liguria and Tuscany known as the Lunigiana. His grandson Ivan Giuliani took over the estate in the 1990s, gradually expanding the vineyards and reshaping the winery around an ambitious idea, a project without regional borders, drawing fruit from both sides of the old Lunigiana territory. Today Terenzuola farms organically across varied altitudes and terrains, and remains one of the most respected names working with Vermentino on this stretch of coast.

Fosso di Corsano comes from parcels in Fosdinovo between roughly 200 and 350 meters above sea level, planted on schisty, stony soils mixed with sandier ground and trained on the Guyot system. The wine is fermented and matured separately by parcel, with the aim of preserving the distinct mineral character each site contributes, an approach that has earned the wine numerous accolades in recent vintages.

The 2023 shows a bright straw yellow color, with a nose led by pronounced minerality alongside fruit, aromatic herbs, and a faint iodine note reminiscent of the nearby sea. The palate is medium bodied, round, and enveloping, with excellent freshness and a savory, saline finish that echoes the aromatics. Pair it with grilled branzino, seafood risotto, or fresh shellfish.
