Maison Trimbach has been crafting wine in the Alsatian town of Ribeauvillé since 1626, with the same family now leading the estate through thirteen generations. The Trimbach family owns roughly a third of all Grand Cru vineyard land in Alsace, a rare concentration of prime terroir that underpins the house's reputation for structured, age-worthy wines. In 2023 the estate earned HVE-3 organic certification, formalizing a commitment to sustainable farming that has long guided its work in the vineyard.

Riesling makes up about half of all Trimbach production, and this bottling includes a meaningful portion of fruit from Grand Cru sites blended with grapes from younger estate vines. The vineyards grow in a mix of marl, limestone, and sandstone soils, shielded from heavy rainfall by the Vosges Mountains, which create a dry, semi-continental climate well suited to Riesling's slow ripening. The wine ferments entirely in stainless steel and skips malolactic fermentation, preserving freshness, then rests in bottle at the estate before release.

The 2023 vintage shows a fine bouquet of flint, chamomile, and dried lemon, with light graphite notes running beneath crisp apple and lime. The palate is juicy and energetic, framed by a touch of citrus pith and lively, focused acidity through a long finish. It pairs well with choucroute, grilled swordfish, or Japanese cuisine.
