The Troupis family has worked in agronomy on the Mantinia plateau since the 1970s, running a nursery that grew and sold vines, fruit trees, and flowers long before wine entered the picture. Tasos Troupis founded the winery itself in 2010, supported by his children Pitsa and Yiannis and son-in-law Kostas Koutsoumpos, turning decades of hands-on knowledge of the land into a small, family-run estate. The winery sits in the Fteri district, at roughly seven hundred meters above sea level in the Arcadian highlands of the Peloponnese.

Hoof and Lur is made from Moschofilero, the aromatic, pink-skinned grape native to this high, cool plateau, grown on well-drained, clay-rocky soils shaped by a continental-leaning Mediterranean climate. The wine is crafted as an homage to how the region's grandfathers once made it, with extended skin contact, spontaneous fermentation using wild yeasts, and no fining or filtration, only a touch of sulfur added at bottling.

The result carries a delicate pink-orange hue and aromas of blood orange, wildflower pollen, and a dusting of powdered sugar. Gentle tannins from the skin contact meet fresh citrus and bright acidity on the palate, finishing with a light touch of honey. Pour it with grilled halloumi, lamb skewers, or citrus-marinated seafood.
