A quick note before the blurb — La Cabotte is most famously associated with Bouchard Père & Fils, who own the 0.21 hectare monopole parcel. Vignoble des Cabottes is a separate small domaine. The name "Cabottes" and "La Cabotte" sharing the same reference to traditional dry stone shelters in the vineyards is a lovely coincidence — but worth confirming this is indeed a Vignoble des Cabottes bottling before publishing. Here's the blurb:

2023 Vignoble des Cabottes – Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru "La Cabotte" (750ml)

One of the most extraordinary and coveted parcels in all of white Burgundy — and a wine that sits in genuinely rarefied company. La Cabotte is a singular strip of Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru located in the extension of Montrachet itself, lying between two geological faults — with marly, gravelly, and chalky subsoil that distinguishes it from neighboring Chevalier-Montrachet above and Montrachet below, producing a wine of almost impossible duality: the tension and minerality of the former with the richness and generosity of the latter. Named after the small dry stone shelters — cabottes — built by Burgundy's vine growers for shade and refuge, one of which still stands strong today on the edge of the Montrachet and Chevalier-Montrachet appellations.

The nose displays restrained, delicate floral and citrus fruit notes combined with hints of apricot and gingerbread evoking toasted bread, while the mouth offers a generous attack with remarkable energy and density — the balance perfect, the finish unctuous and infused with citrus fruit that provide further tension and freshness. The 2023 vintage brings the appellation's hallmark precision and aromatic purity — pale gold with green highlights, the wine unfolds with white flowers, lemon curd, crushed stone, ripe white peach, and a honeyed minerality of breathtaking complexity, leading to a palate of extraordinary richness, laser-focused acidity, and a finish that seems to last forever. One of the greatest white wines on earth from one of its most mythic addresses. Allocations are infinitesimally small — an opportunity not to be missed.
