2024 Argyle - Pinot Noir Willamette Valley (750ml)
Argyle Winery was founded in 1987 in Dundee, Oregon, and has since become one of the Willamette Valley's most recognized producers, known for consistently earning critical praise across its red, white, and sparkling lineups. The winery draws fruit from several distinct vineyard sites spread across the valley, giving the winemaking team the flexibility to build a Pinot Noir that reflects fullness, spice, and elegance in a single blend rather than the character of just one place.
The Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is sourced from four vineyards across the region, each contributing something different to the final wine. Fermentation takes place in small, 1.5 ton lots with hand plunging rather than mechanical extraction, a gentler approach meant to preserve delicacy and avoid harsh tannin. The wine is aged to highlight purity of fruit and a lively, silky texture rather than heavy oak influence, keeping the focus on the vineyard sites themselves.
This vintage offers pretty cherry and cranberry flavors accented by toasty spice and orange peel, carried by fresh, vibrant acidity and polished, fine grained tannins. The finish is precise and lingers with real length. It pairs well with roast duck, grilled salmon, or a savory mushroom risotto.
