2024 Aubert - Chardonnay Sonoma Coast UV-SL (750ml)
2024 Aubert Chardonnay Sonoma Coast UV-SL (750ml)
From Aubert Wines, the 2024 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast UV-SL embodies the winery’s site-driven philosophy. Planted on Ulises Valdez Sr.’s Stoetz Lane vineyard, tucked in the far western hills near Graton and Occidental, just six miles from the Pacific, the fruit comes from Goldridge soil grown with rare heritage clones. This is Chardonnay that speaks clearly of its place and lineage.
The wine is fermented with native yeast in barrel and aged in a generous portion of new French oak, left unstirred on the lees to maintain brightness and avoid heaviness. This approach preserves tension and energy, resulting in a wine that rewards patience and careful cellaring.
The glass opens with citrus blossom, nectarine, and opal apple, then shifts to saline notes of crushed seashell, wild fennel, and sea spray as it breathes. The palate is expansive and finely textured, with a long, poised finish that promises deeper complexity with time in the bottle.
Pair UV-SL with roast chicken, pan-seared scallops, or Dungeness crab to complement the wine’s mineral lift and bright acidity.
