2024 Balthazar, Franck - Cornas Cuvee Casmir (750ml) [PRE ARRIVAL]

Named for Franck's grandfather, who founded the estate in 1931, Cuvée Casimir is the most approachable entry point into Balthazar's rigorously traditional Cornas range. Sourced from old-vine Syrah on the granite slopes of Les Mazards and La Lègre, farmed organically and worked by horse, then fermented whole-cluster with native yeasts and aged in old demi-muids for 18 months, unfiltered. Expect a vibrant, peppery, red-fruited style, orange blossom, black cherry, and red plum aromatics with stemmy, savory nuances, offering more immediate accessibility than Balthazar's more structured cuvées without needing a decade of cellaring. A genuine "soil-to-glass" introduction to one of the Northern Rhône's most respected traditionalist producers.
