2024 Beaucastel - Chateauneuf du Pape BLANC (750ml) (PRE ARRIVAL)
White wine is a small, special part of Beaucastel, made from only about 7 hectares of white vines, and the blend is famously Roussanne-heavy, roughly 80%, with Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Bourboulenc, and others. Organically farmed and made by the Perrin family, who have been at the estate for five generations. The 2024 is a very fine vintage of Beaucastel white: Suckling found a fresh, balanced, and velvety wine with lemons, white peaches, warm herbs, and mild spices, medium- to full-bodied with an oily texture and a lift of verbena. Wine Advocate noted spices, white flowers, pear, and peach with a gastronomic bitterness and a long, saline finish, while Jeb Dunnuck called out honeyed melon and crushed stone. Rich but fresh, with mouthwatering salinity. A great match for roast chicken, lobster, or a cheese board, and it will age beautifully for years
