2024 Beaucastel - Chateauneuf du Pape BLANC Roussanne VV (750ml) (PRE ARRIVAL)

One of the rarest and most collectible white wines in France, with only about 6,000 bottles made. 100% Roussanne from century-old vines in a single parcel just behind the château, harvested slightly overripe and matured in 50% new and 50% one-year-old barrels. Organically farmed by the Perrin family. Vinous called the 2024 the white wine of the vintage, and Wine Advocate named it a strong contender for the same title. James Suckling found floral honey and beautifully ripe melon, rich and dense yet precise and delicate, with a super-long, super-elegant finish. Vinous added chamomile, linden blossom, lemon, and jasmine, with a sleek saline touch on the finish, and Wine Advocate noted smoke, spice, and confit citrus. A once-a-year white to drink with lobster or roast chicken, or to hold for years.
