2024 Bodega Chacra - Pinot Noir Patagonia Barda (750ml)
One of the most exciting and talked-about Pinot Noirs in the entire Southern Hemisphere — and one of the great wine values on the planet. Rated 94 Points by James Suckling, who called it perfumed, vivid, lively, crunchy, and fresh — with subtle cherry, cranberry, and strawberry aromas and a hint of peaches — always excellent and super drinkable. Wine Advocate awarded 92 Points, praising the 2024 Barda as a pitch-perfect introduction to the Chacra range, leading with a radiantly floral and red-fruited bouquet supported by smoky, earth-tinged accents, with a silky, suave palate flowing into a balanced, persistent finish.
Founded by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta — grandson of the creator of Sassicaia — Bodega Chacra is built around some of the oldest ungrafted Pinot Noir vines in the world, planted in 1932 in the ancient riverbed soils of Patagonia's remote Río Negro Valley. Working with terroir specialist Pedro Parra, pruning guru Marco Simonit, and Burgundy legend Jean-Marc Roulot, Chacra produces wines of elegance and depth that transcend expectations of New World Pinot Noir. The Barda is organically and biodynamically farmed, fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks, and bottled unfiltered and unfined with less than 40ppm of sulfur — as natural and pure as serious winemaking gets. Light, bright, and hauntingly Burgundian in character, yet unmistakably Patagonian. For lovers of great Pinot Noir at any price point, this is unmissable
