Saint-Aubin sits just west of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, a picturesque village whose wines have gained real recognition for offering Côte de Beaune quality at a more approachable price. Le Charmois ranks among the appellation's top climats, positioned on east and southeast facing slopes between the two more famous communes. The limestone-rich soils here, combined with elevations between 250 and 350 meters, give the site real potential for producing precise, age-worthy Chardonnay. Bruno Colin has farmed this parcel since establishing his own domaine in 2003, after the historic family estate founded by his father Michel Colin-Delèger was divided among his children.

The 2024 vintage shows luscious citrus notes wrapped in a well-polished structure. Floral aromatics, including lime blossom, add lift to the nose, while the palate carries smooth, persistent fruit balanced by crisp, mouthwatering acidity. A subtle saline edge lingers on the finish, a hallmark of Bruno Colin's precise, mineral-driven winemaking style across his range. Built with real structure, this wine should continue developing complexity over the next several years.

Serve chilled in a proper white Burgundy glass, and this pairs beautifully with shellfish, rich fish like salmon or tuna, and soft cheeses.

90 Points
"Pretty and airy aromas of citrus, pear and apple are complemented by more evident floral hints. The racy, intense and nicely voluminous middle weight flavors terminate in a clean, dry and citrus-inflected finale where a touch of wood slowly appears. This is delicious and refreshing and while it too could use better depth, a few years of keeping should reasonably address that."
