The 2024 Coquard Loison Fleurot Bourgogne Rouge is a 100% Pinot Noir from Domaine Coquard Loison Fleurot, a small, family-run estate based in Flagey-Échézeaux in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. The domaine, which shifted from selling grapes to négociants toward estate bottling in 2009 and 2010, has built a strong reputation for quality across its holdings, which span twelve appellations, including six grand crus. This Bourgogne Rouge draws on vines from around Flagey-Échézeaux, many planted in the 1950s and farmed using organic principles, with all fruit estate grown rather than purchased.

In the glass, this wine typically shows a mix of red and black fruit, with wild strawberry and raspberry notes joined by hints of earth and soft spice. The palate is medium bodied, with fine, silky tannins and a fresh, lively finish that reflects the elegance Coquard Loison Fleurot has become known for at the village and regional level.

This is an approachable, well-priced entry point into Burgundian Pinot Noir, suited to poultry, veal, and lighter game dishes. It can be enjoyed on release or given a year or two in bottle to soften further.
