Domaine Faiveley's 2024 Montagny 1er Cru Les Las comes from one of Burgundy's oldest and most storied estates, founded in Nuits-Saint-Georges in 1825 and now led by Erwan Faiveley, representing the family's seventh generation of winegrowers. Montagny sits at the southern tip of the Côte Chalonnaise, bordering the Mâconnais, where Chardonnay thrives on uneven, hilly terrain.

Les Las is a five-hectare parcel facing east and southeast, its steep slopes climbing to roughly 400 meters. The soil here is notably pebbly, clay and marl based, and several resurgent springs keep the vineyard consistently moisture rich, a combination that shapes the wine's freshness and lift.

In the glass, this Montagny 1er Cru shows a pale yellow color with golden reflections. The nose opens with fresh floral aromas and mineral undertones, occasionally joined by notes of dried fruit. On the palate, the wine is concentrated yet well balanced, with a lively, energetic character and a persistent, refreshing finish that reflects the distinct terroir of Montagny.

This is a versatile white suited to rich fish like salmon or tuna, shellfish, and soft or mild cheeses, and it pairs equally well with pasta dishes built around cream or butter.
