Livio Felluga has been one of Friuli-Venezia Giulia's defining white wine producers since the estate's founder began restoring the hillside vineyards of Rosazzo and Collio decades ago, convinced that careful farming was the key to quality. That commitment to quality and respect for the land continues today under his son, Andrea Felluga, who leads the roughly 500-acre estate.

Pinot Grigio, a natural mutation of Pinot Noir, favors the cooler hillside sites where this fruit is grown, rooted in marl and sandstone soils of Eocene origin and largely trained using the Guyot method. Grapes are hand-picked to protect the integrity of each berry, gently destemmed, and left to macerate briefly before a soft pressing. The must is clarified by settling, then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks before resting on its lees for several months to build texture and complexity.

The finished wine pours a brilliant yellow with faint coppery highlights and opens with orange blossom, white melon, and stone fruit aromas layered over a saline, mineral core. On the palate it's fresh and balanced, with a rounded texture from lees aging carried by lively acidity. It pairs beautifully with grilled seafood, roast poultry, or soft, fresh cheeses.

92 Points
"The 2024 Collio Pinot Grigio from Livio Felluga shows a delicate pink, onion-skin hue from a brief four- to six-hour maceration. Sourced from five parcels across Rosazzo and Cormons, the wine balances ripe and candied fruit—apricot and redcurrant—with saline, iodine and lightly metallic mineral notes. Partial malolactic fermentation and lees aging add a subtle creaminess, while the palate remains fresh, firm and finely structured with a touch of herbal complexity and a clean, mineral finish."
