2024 Henri Boillot - Meursault Gouttes D'Or (750ml) [PRE ARRIVAL]

Gouttes d'Or — "drops of gold" — is one of Meursault's most distinctive Premier Crus, sitting low on the slope with rich, heavy soils that produce the appellation's most opulent, golden-hued wines. It's the furthest stylistically from Perrières: broader, more exotic, honeyed, and generous where its neighbors are lean and chiselled. In Boillot's hands the 2023 showed what this vineyard can do — floral and intensely mineral, with striking textural depth, bright saline notes running through a core of lemon, chamomile, dried flowers, and spice, with a sustained, resonant finish. The 2024 tells a similar story: the Meursault Gouttes d'Or was bright, clean, and minerally, with good tension — a more precise and structured expression than the vintage's reputation might suggest.
