Domaine Jean-Charles Fagot is a small family estate located in Corpeau, just outside the village of Chassagne-Montrachet in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune. The Fagot family has lived in the area since 1860, and Jean-Charles represents the fifth generation to carry on the winemaking tradition, with his family also holding vineyard acreage directly within Chassagne-Montrachet itself. Before settling into the family business in the mid-1990s, Jean-Charles spent years pursuing music in Paris and Los Angeles, and today he balances winemaking with running a respected local restaurant. He farms using lutte raisonnée, limiting chemical intervention to only when truly necessary.

This Chassagne-Montrachet is made from Chardonnay grown within one of the Côte de Beaune's most celebrated white wine villages, known for producing wines with real power balanced by freshness. Following Fagot's traditional approach, the wine is vinified naturally and aged in oak for twelve to fourteen months in the family's cellars, a process designed to build texture and depth while still allowing the vineyard's character to shine through.

The finished wine is full-bodied and powerful, with bright acidity keeping it lively despite its richness, and the estate's judicious use of oak lends subtle depth without overwhelming the fruit. It pairs particularly well with rich fish such as salmon or tuna, shellfish, and mild, soft cheeses.
