Émigré tells a story of migration in a glass. The native Assyrtiko grape of Santorini travels to Nemea, where after a short stint in barrel it's blended with Kydonitsa, a variety native to the Peloponnese, giving birth to Émigré. Mitravelas plants this Assyrtiko in its own privately owned vineyards in Nemea, where it captures the grape's signature minerality alongside real fruit intensity and structure from its partnership with Kydonitsa.

The 2024 vintage is an 80/20 blend of Assyrtiko and Kydonitsa, pale lemon in color, with a fruity nose of citrus and lemon blossom accented by oak notes that betray its brief time in barrel. Expect intense aromas of unripe citrus fruit and lemon blossom, along with faint hints of yeast and oak from that short wood contact, which also lends the wine a subtle oiliness on the palate. The wine carries an awakening acidity and the freshness typical of young vines, while the Kydonitsa component adds ripe quince, peach, apricot, pear, pineapple, and rosehip, along with bergamot and lime.

This wine pairs beautifully with shrimp, seafood platters, Asian cuisine, seafood pasta, or fried fish.
