Domaine Méo-Camuzet is one of Burgundy's most celebrated estates, founded in the early twentieth century by Étienne Camuzet, a French parliamentarian who assembled an exceptional collection of vineyard holdings, including parcels in Clos de Vougeot. The estate began bottling under its own name in 1985 and is now run by Jean-Nicolas Méo, whose winemaking has been shaped by the guidance of the legendary Henri Jayer. Alongside its domaine wines, the Méo-Camuzet Frère et Sœurs négociant label, sometimes marketed as Maison Méo-Camuzet, sources fruit from respected growers across the Côte d'Or.

Fixin sits at the northern edge of the Côte de Nuits, just south of Dijon, and its Pinot Noir vineyards on limestone and marl slopes tend to produce wines with firm structure balanced by real finesse. Grapes are hand harvested and vinified with gentle extraction, allowing the site's natural acidity to guide the process rather than heavy handling, before aging in a mix of oak barrels.

The 2024 shows the soft, easy-drinking charm this bottling is known for, with a nose of red berries and light spice that carries through to a silky, surprisingly long palate. Structured yet approachable young, it pairs well with roast chicken, mushroom dishes, or a simple beef bourguignon.

87-89 Points
"Bright, cool and markedly fresh aromas include those of various red berries and humus-tinged earth. There is solid volume and very good punch to the delicious middle weight flavors that conclude in a lightly austere bitter pit fruit-inflected finale. This could be enjoyed young or held for a few years."
