Domaine Marc Morey has been rooted in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet since 1919, when Fernand Morey first began estate bottling on a small parcel of vines. His son Marc expanded the property through the middle of the twentieth century, and the domaine is now led by Marc's granddaughter, Sabine Mollard, who has run the estate since 2003 with a meticulous, terroir-focused approach. Les Vergers is one of five Chassagne-Montrachet premier crus in the domaine's portfolio, sitting just below Chassagne's grand cru slopes and known for producing wines with real precision.

The 2024 season presented a challenging, wet growing cycle across Burgundy, though Vergers' well-drained soils helped the Chardonnay reach a balanced ripeness by harvest. The wine follows the same careful, parcel-specific vinification as the rest of the range, aging in oak barrels through the winter and spring with periodic lees stirring before bottling.

The nose carries a touch of reductive character alongside real depth and complexity, unfolding into orchard fruit and tangy mandarin. The palate is vibrant on entry, fanning out into a long, lingering finish rather than a single persistent line. In riper years the wine can show notes of red apple, ginger, and white pepper. Pair with crab cakes or a triple-cream cheese.
