2024 Michel Bouzereau - Bourgogne Blanc Cote d'Or Clos du Moulin (750ml) [PRE ARRIVAL]

The Bouzereau family has made wine in Meursault for seven generations, and Domaine Michel Bouzereau et Fils is widely regarded as one of the finest addresses among the several domaines that still carry the family name in the village. Michel expanded the estate's holdings after inheriting them, and his son Jean-Baptiste joined the operation twenty years later, taking over full responsibility for the domaine in 1999 and continuing to build on his father's reputation for precise, terroir-driven white Burgundy.

This bottling comes from Clos du Moulin, a walled, one-hectare parcel that Jean-Baptiste acquired in 2017. The vineyard sits just outside the official Meursault appellation boundary, along the river on alluvial soil, neighboring the village lieux-dits Les Petits Charrons and Les Chevalières, with vines now around forty years old. The grapes are pressed gently, settled for about a day, and moved to barrel on their fine lees, where the wine ages roughly a year with a modest portion of new oak before finishing several months in tank ahead of bottling.

The wine shows ripe pear and nectarine aromas layered with butter, baking spice, and a touch of honeysuckle. The palate is rich yet fresh, dense without feeling heavy, with a long, mineral-tinged finish that belies its modest Bourgogne classification.
