Patricia Green Cellars was founded in 2000 by Patty Green and Jim Anderson on a 52-acre estate that would later become part of the Ribbon Ridge AVA. While the winery has built its name on an extensive range of single-vineyard Pinot Noirs from some of the Willamette Valley's most storied sites, Dollar Bills Only carries a lighter, more playful story behind it, taking its name from a local bar's jukebox that only accepts small bills, a nod to good, unpretentious wine without the fuss.

This bottling is made from excess lots of high-quality fruit originally destined for the winery's top single-vineyard wines, drawn from estate and grower vineyards across the Willamette Valley. It is not produced every vintage, only in years when enough exceptional juice is left over after the flagship bottlings are set aside. The wine is fermented with native yeast and aged in neutral French oak, a light touch meant to showcase the fruit itself rather than add weight or spice.

The 2024 is silky and elegantly layered, with aromas of rose petal, raspberry, and orange peel that build into a velvety, richly textured palate. Its finish is long and mellow, gaining power gradually rather than all at once. It pairs nicely with roast turkey, herb-roasted chicken, or grilled pork tenderloin.
