The flagship wine from one of Châteauneuf-du-Pape's most traditionally-styled, benchmark estates, run by the father-daughter team of Paul and Laurence Féraud. A blend of 80% Grenache, 6% Syrah, 4% Mourvèdre, and 10% other traditional varieties, hand-harvested with no destemming, fermented with native yeasts through a 12-day maceration in concrete vats, then aged 2 years in 50-hectoliter old oak foudres. Expect a dark red color with a purple body, opening with black ripe fruits like morello cherry and raspberry, juniper berry, black pepper, and garrigue, aromas that will deepen into plum, dried stone fruit, leather, fur, and sandalwood with further aging. Round, rich, and powerful on the palate with soft, well-integrated tannins. A genuine reference point for the appellation, built to evolve into a more complex, spicier wine over the next decade or more.

Region: Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rhône, France
Producer: Domaine du Pégau
Cuvée: Réservée
Grape Blend: 80% Grenache, 6% Syrah, 4% Mourvèdre, 10% Other Traditional Varieties
Vintage: 2024
Bottle Size: 750ml

93-95 Points
"Tasted out of foudre, the 2024 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Réservée is more focused, inward, and chiseled, with beautiful aromatics of darker fruits, violets, and pepper. This medium-bodied, pure, concentrated effort has ripe, building tannins and a great finish. It could easily be a match for the 2004, which was one of the best wines in the vintage."
