Domaine Pierre Usseglio farms just 1 hectare of white grapes among its 25 hectares in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, making this a genuinely small-production bottling from a house better known for its red cuvées. A blend of 70% Clairette, 25% Grenache Blanc, and 5% Bourboulenc, vinified across stainless steel, barrique, and amphora to build texture and complexity. Expect a nose of toasted bread, fresh butter, and vanilla, opening into ripe pear, white peach, mirabelle plum, and apricot, with white floral notes adding finesse. The palate carries real weight balanced by well-integrated freshness, finishing long, creamy, and generous, the signature of a great white Châteauneuf. A superb pairing for rich fish or cream-sauced poultry.

Region Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rhône, France
Producer Domaine Pierre Usseglio & Fils
Cuvée Première Pierre
Grape Blend 70% Clairette, 25% Grenache Blanc, 5% Bourboulenc
Vintage 2024
Bottle Size 750ml
92 Points
"Based on 50% Clairette Blanche, 25% Grenache Blanc, 20% Clairette Rose, and the rest Bourboulenc, the 2024 Châteauneuf Du Pape Premiere Pierre Blanc was brought up in a mix of wood and amphora. Beautiful peach and pineapple fruits intermix with mint, white flowers, and a beautiful clean minerality on the nose. It's medium-bodied, fresh, focused, and balanced, with clean acidity and a great finish. Drink 2025-2037."
