Brothers Carlo and Dante Mondavi spent a decade searching for the right sites on the extreme western Sonoma Coast before founding RAEN in 2013. Grandsons of Robert Mondavi, they left the family's Napa Cabernet legacy behind to pursue something wilder — Pinot Noir shaped by Pacific fog, coastal wind, and marine-influenced soils. The Royal St. Robert is named in their grandfather's honor.

Dedicated to the man who taught them everything, this special cuvée opens with opulent aromas of rose petals, wild strawberry, savory herbs, and the edge of a coastal forest nearing a springtime meadow — followed by red cherry, raspberry plum, blood orange marmalade, and thyme. Layers of coastal forest floor, mushroom-laced foliage, sea moss, and ripe cherries add unique depth and earthy character, while a vibrant core of red and black berries carries through to a finish lifted by spice and coastal freshness.

James Suckling calls it spellbinding — rose petals, strawberries, citrus and bark, medium-bodied, tight and structured, with a captivating combination of linear intensity and calmness. A continued benchmark for American Pinot Noir. Vinous calls the 2024 the finest vintage of Royal St. Robert since RAEN's earliest days.

100% whole cluster. Natively fermented. Bottled without fining. Drink now through 2036.

99 Points
"Spellbinding aromas of rose petals, strawberries, citrus and bark, with hints of lemongrass. Medium-bodied, tight and structured, this offers a captivating combination of linear intensity and calmness, so classy and sophisticated. A continued benchmark for American pinot noir. Drink or hold."
