Remhoogte Wine Estate has occupied the steep southwestern slopes of the Simonsberg mountain in Stellenbosch since 1812, though its modern chapter began in 1994 when the Boustred family, father Murray and brothers Chris and Rob, took over the property. Their approach was shaped in part through collaboration with French viticulturist Michel Rolland, and today Chris leads a low-intervention program built around minimal handling, wild fermentation, and fruit drawn entirely from the estate's own vineyards.

Honeybunch takes its name from the way it is made. Only the bunches on the morning sun side of the estate's decades-old Chenin Blanc vineyard are selected for this wine, and that extra sun exposure turns the grapes a deeper gold, giving the finished wine its distinctive honeyed character before a single grape is pressed. Fermentation relies on wild, indigenous yeasts rather than cultured strains, letting the vineyard's own character guide the process.

The wine opens with aromas of pear, white peach, orange peel, lime, honeysuckle, and acacia blossom. On the palate, a gentle brioche-like sweetness meets fresh lime and passion fruit, while a honeyed mid-palate lends a creamy texture that carries through to a long, saline finish. It suits pan-seared scallops, roast chicken, or a mild, creamy cheese.
