Rombauer Vineyards was founded in 1980 in Napa Valley and released its first Carneros Chardonnay in 1990, a wine that went on to become one of the most recognized Chardonnay styles in California. The winery built its reputation on a rich, generous house style that pairs ripe fruit with a creamy, oak influenced texture, earning it a loyal following among Chardonnay drinkers who return to the label year after year. Estate grown fruit is supplemented by select partner vineyards, including longtime grower relationships with families like the Sangiacomos in Carneros.

The grapes are grown in the Carneros AVA, which stretches across southern Napa and Sonoma counties and benefits from cooling winds and fog rolling in off San Pablo Bay. That maritime influence slows ripening and helps preserve natural acidity even as the fruit develops rich flavor. In the cellar, the wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation with regular lees stirring, then ages roughly nine months in a mix of French and American oak, a portion of it new, to build the wine's signature creamy texture and spice.

The nose offers ripe yellow peach, melon, and citrus with hints of vanilla and baking spice, carrying through to a rich, round palate of nectarine and tropical fruit balanced by bright, mouthwatering acidity. It pairs well with roast chicken, crab cakes, or a creamy risotto.
