Saint Clair Family Estate was founded by Neal and Judy Ibbotson, who began growing grapes in Marlborough in 1978 before releasing their first wines under their own label in 1994. Since then the family-run winery has grown into one of the most decorated producers in New Zealand, earning a reputation for consistent quality across a large portfolio while still overseeing the fruit sourcing and winemaking with a hands-on approach passed down through the family.

The Dillons Point bottling draws on vineyards located predominantly in the lower Wairau sub-region of Marlborough, an area recognized for producing Sauvignon Blanc with particularly vivid varietal expression. The 2024 growing season brought cool spring weather during flowering, followed by warm, dry conditions through harvest that allowed the fruit to ripen quickly, resulting in low yields of exceptionally clean grapes. The wine is fermented and finished to highlight the site's natural intensity rather than heavy oak influence, keeping the focus on fresh, pure fruit character.

The glass offers aromas of cut grass and lime zest alongside notes of bell pepper and flint. The palate is light and bright, carrying flavors of guava, kiwi, and pineapple, finishing vibrant and fresh with a touch of stony minerality. This is a versatile pairing partner for fresh shellfish, goat cheese salads, or light Asian-inspired dishes that can stand up to its zesty acidity.
