One of Chablis' most thrilling Premier Cru sites from its most exciting producer — and one of the rarest bottles of the vintage. Samuel owns two parcels at different altitudes in Montée de Tonnerre — Chapelot lower down, which ripens earlier for richness and broad texture, and Triangle higher up, which adds vitality and minerality — blended together into a wine of remarkable complexity and precision. Aged 80% in tank and 20% in used 500-liter barrels for 18 months on fine lees, the 2024 shows the vintage's hallmark stony vitality and electric acidity — pale gold with a nose of citrus oil, white peach, oyster shell, and wet stone, leading to a taut, saline, crystalline palate of extraordinary mineral purity and a finish that simply won't quit. Neal Martin of Vinous compared Samuel Billaud's quality to Raveneau — at a fraction of the price. Allocations are infinitesimally small. Don't hesitate.

92-95 Points
"A more elegant and more floral-infused nose speaks of mineral reduction, iodine, quinine and an array of citrus nuances. Once again, the mouthfeel of the middle weight flavors is super-sleek with excellent delineation that carries over to the almost painfully intense, chiseled, stony and strikingly long finish. This is pretty much textbook MdT so if you can find it, buy it."
