Skouras Winery was founded in 1986 by Dijon-trained oenologist George Skouras in Pyrgela, Argos, where he began producing high quality Greek wines that helped drive the country's modern wine renaissance. In 1988 he released Megas Oenos, the estate's flagship blend and the first Greek wine to pair Agiorgitiko with Cabernet Sauvignon. The Saint George bottling takes its name from the town of Agios Georgios, believed to be the origin of the Agiorgitiko grape, and reflects the domaine's longstanding belief that a wine culture proves itself through everyday bottles people return to again and again.

This 2024 release is crafted entirely from Agiorgitiko sourced from several villages across the Nemea appellation in the Peloponnese, with vines planted in clay soils at roughly 650 meters above sea level. The altitude encourages slow, even ripening that preserves natural acidity. Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless steel, followed by malolactic fermentation and aging in neutral French barrique, a restrained approach that builds texture without heavy oak character.

The wine shows a bright morello cherry hue with aromas of blackberry, raspberry, and ripe strawberry, joined by touches of cinnamon, clove, and tobacco. On the palate it is medium bodied with fine, velvety tannins and balanced acidity leading to a moderately long finish. It pairs well with grilled lamb kebabs, moussaka, or roasted vegetables.
