2024 Turley - Zinfandel Napa Juvenile (750ml)

The Concept

Though the vast majority of Turley's wines are single-vineyard designates, Juvenile is composed of young vines that have been replanted in several of their old-vine sites. They tag the younger vines, pick them separately, and make a distinct wine. Juvenile vines range in age from about 6–25 years, and Turley pulls from a selection of their best vineyards across California, including Hayne, Pesenti, Salvador, Vineyard 101, Fredericks, and Kirschenmann. 

Technical Details

100% Zinfandel, practicing organic, sourced from 27 vineyards across 11 counties in California. Fermented with 100% native yeast, aged 12 months in 80% French and 20% American oak (5% new), and bottled unfined. 15.2% ABV.

Tasting Notes

Exuberant and expressive — classic Zinfandel spice, brightly fruited and well structured, delightfully juicy. Dark raspberry, blue fruits, soft tannins, and deeply pleasurable. 

The 2024 opens with crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit, spice, and mint on an expressive, perfumed nose, alongside juicy dark cherries, blackberries, and just-ripened raspberries with savory Thanksgiving spices
