Zlatan Otok is one of Croatia's most decorated wineries, founded in 1991 by Zlatan Plenković in the fishing village of Sveta Nedjelja on the island of Hvar. This Pošip comes from Pošip Bijeli, an indigenous Croatian grape variety with roots tracing back to ancient Dalmatia, originally associated with the neighboring island of Korčula and now firmly established on Hvar's steep, sun-soaked southern slopes.

In the glass, this wine shows a straw-golden color with real density, leaving a noticeably thick trail as it moves. The bouquet is bright and full, centered on dried apricot and fig, often accompanied by hints of peach, hay, and a distinct saline minerality that reflects the vineyard's proximity to the Adriatic. On the palate, the wine carries good acidity alongside its richness, giving it enough structure to stay food friendly rather than heavy, with a long, satisfying finish.

This Vrhunsko designation marks it as a premium quality wine under Croatian wine law. Serve chilled alongside Mediterranean seafood, Dalmatian pršut, aged cheeses, or grilled pork chops for a pairing that echoes the wine's coastal origins.
