2025 Alvina Pernot - Puligny Montrachet Les Noyers Brets (750ml) [PRE ARRIVAL]
Alvina Pernot grew up in the shadow of one of Puligny-Montrachet's great winemaking names: her family's Domaine Paul Pernot ranks among the appellation's largest landholders, trailing only Domaine Leflaive. After working several years alongside her father and grandfather at the family estate, Alvina and her husband, Philippe Abadie, launched their own small label in 2018, beginning with a single vineyard, La Rue aux Vaches, that came up for sale in 2017. Since then the couple has added several more parcels once farmed by Alvina's relatives, including Les Noyers Brets, situated right next to their own home, and in 2021 they completed a dedicated winery on Puligny's Rue de Bois, giving them full control over pressing and aging for the first time.
This wine comes from the Clos des Noyers Brets parcel, planted in 1984 on chalky clay soil near the village of Puligny-Montrachet. The grapes are harvested in stages to capture optimal ripeness across the plot, then gently pneumatic-pressed and left to settle for about twenty hours before racking into three-year-old French oak barrels, chosen specifically to avoid imprinting overt wood character. The wine ages around eighteen months before a very light filtration and bottling.
The wine shows bright, green aromas of passion fruit and gooseberry, underscored by salty minerality and a floral lift. The style is precise, elegant, and delicately reductive. It pairs beautifully with shellfish, goat cheese, or simple grilled fish.
