Ignacio Ameztoi represents the fifth generation of his family to make txakolina in Getaria, a small Basque fishing village on Spain's rugged Atlantic coast. The estate owns around forty hectares of vineyards and rents an additional ten, with most plots enjoying dramatic sea views over the village below. Ameztoi has long been recognized as one of the leading producers of Getariako Txakolina, and Ignacio's own drive for innovation has helped push the appellation forward over the past decade.

This bottling relies on the indigenous white Hondarrabi Zuri grape, along with a small portion of red Hondarrabi Beltza, grown on traditional trellises high above the coastline. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks using a house selection of yeasts, and the wine is stored in hermetically sealed tanks kept near seven degrees Celsius year-round to hold onto its natural spritz. The finished wine typically lands between 10.5% and 11.5% alcohol, a hallmark of the traditional Getaria style.

This txakoli pours pale and lively, with a fine natural fizz that carries notes of green apple, lime zest, and sea salt across the palate. A streak of saline minerality runs through the finish alongside a touch of white pepper, giving the wine real energy without heaviness. Its bright acidity and light body make it a natural partner for seafood, pairing well with grilled sardines, briny anchovies, fried croquetas, or a simple plate of oysters.
