One of the most coveted white wines in the Rhône. This is 100% Roussanne, grown on very old vines from a single parcel just behind the château, on ancient Miocene seabed covered with alpine river pebbles. It’s hand-picked, pressed and fermented 30% in barrel and 70% in tank. Beaucastel’s flagship white is golden and silky, rich without being heavy, with peach, apricot, honey, citrus and white flowers, and a saline, bitter-edged freshness that carries a very long finish. It’s built for the long haul and also lovely young. Serve it with lobster, roast chicken, truffled dishes or a ripe, creamy cheese.

"Undeniably one of the world's greatest dry white wines, the 2025 Châteauneuf Du Pape Roussanne Vieilles Vignes comes from a single parcel of very old vines not far from the château in the northern part of the appellation, and as always, it's all Roussanne aged in demi-muids. Take the classic cuvée and turn the volume up and you have this. White currants, honeyed orange, toasted spice, and chalky minerality all emerge from the glass, and it's medium to full-bodied, pure, focused, and vibrant on the palate, with a balanced style, clean acidity, and a great finish. It's a blockbuster that's going to gain richness over the coming couple of years and keep for 20+ years. Drink 2026-2046."
