Founded in 1761, Giacomo Borgogno & Figli is the oldest continuously operating winery in Barolo and a benchmark for traditional Piedmontese winemaking. The Borgogno family ran the estate for 247 years before the Farinetti family acquired it in 2008, pledging to preserve its legacy. Under Andrea Farinetti, the winery earned organic certification in 2019 and returned to fermenting exclusively in cement vats, while continuing to safeguard one of the largest library collections of aged Barolo in the region.

This Dolcetto d'Alba DOC is made entirely from organically grown Dolcetto within the Alba appellation. The grapes are hand harvested, destemmed, and fermented spontaneously with native yeasts. Unlike Borgogno's Barolo, the wine never sees oak, resting only in concrete tanks before bottling to preserve the variety's bright, juicy character. It is crafted for enjoyment within a year or two of the vintage.

Deep ruby with purple glints, the wine opens with aromas of cherry, strawberry, and violet. The medium-bodied palate is fresh and lively, with ripe red berry fruit, a faint almond note on the finish, crisp acidity, and soft tannins. Serve it with tajarin in meat ragù, eggplant parmigiana, or a wood-fired pizza.
