2025 Chateau Beychevelle - St. Julien (750ml) [Bordeaux Future ETA 2028]
Beychevelle, a land of wine and legend
At Beychevelle, legends are woven into the soul of the estate as deeply as the greatness of its wine. A Fourth Growth in the 1855 Classification, the property owes its name and emblem to the Duc d’Épernon, Grand Admiral of France in the 17th century, before whom passing ships would lower their sails in tribute. Since then, the château has cultivated this sense of mystery and majesty, from the two-hundred-year-old cedar tree standing guard at the entrance to the estate, to echoes of Molière and the depth of a terroir shaped by history.
Across 250 hectares, including 90 hectares under vine, Beychevelle draws from the nobility of Saint-Julien to express a style that is refined, generous and harmonious. Here, the Grand Vin is born from a constant dialogue between the power of the place, the elegance of its style and the imagination it has inspired for centuries.
The 2025 vintage
2025 is a vintage best understood through the vineyard.
The mild winter encouraged the vines to bud early. The dry spring helped to maintain perfectly healthy foliage. Photosynthesis was continuous, laying the foundations for uniform ripening. The year seemed relatively straightforward to manage, especially compared to the previous one. August, marked by ten days with temperatures above 35°C, caused significant water stress. The berries remained small and concentrated, with remarkable anthocyanin synthesis and rapid phenolic ripening.
The 2025 vintage now displays a deep colour, a dense and precise tannic structure, and tension. It is a concentrated, balanced vintage, true to Beychevelle’s identity: powerful and harmonious
