Owner of Grand Corbin-Despagne in Saint-Emilion for over two centuries, the Despagne family perpetuates their love for the vineyard and respect for traditions. Since Louis Despagne in 1812, seven generations have contributed to the renown of this Grand Cru Classé, now managed by François Despagne.

Located in the north of the Saint-Emilion appellation, bordering Pomerol, the vineyard of Château Grand Corbin-Despagne lies on two main soil types: clay-sand-siliceous with iron residue and old superficial sands on compact blue clays.

Each vintage is unique. However, they share a family resemblance due to the terroir close to Pomerol: complex notes of red fruits and floral hints evolving with age towards spicier, truffle, violet, and cherry nuances, supported on the palate by the finesse and smoothness of velvety tannins.

In 2010, the entire vineyard was cultivated organically and officially certified since 2013. Since 2018, trial plots have been cultivated biodynamically.

91-94 Points
"The 2025 Grand Corbin Despagne is deep and quite powerful. Black cherry, leather, espresso, licorice, dried herbs and chocolate take shape in the glass. This builds beautifully with time, showing lots of Cabernet savoriness and pepperiness. Superb. Tasted two times"
