Mouton Rothschild: the creation of a unique and timeless masterpiece
Each vintage of Mouton Rothschild celebrates the encounter between two forms of creation: art and wine. On one side, the vision of a contemporary artist; on the other, the expression of the greatest artist of all: Nature. Since 1945, the label of each vintage has been entrusted to a major figure from the art world, who creates an original work designed especially for Mouton Rothschild. MirĂł, Chagall, Braque, Picasso, DalĂ, Bacon, Balthus, TĂ pies, Jeff Koons and even Prince Charles have all left their mark on the history of this First Growth.
Beyond the excellence of its wines, Mouton Rothschild has created a truly unique signature: a timeless dialogue between artistic creation, prestige and great terroirs. Located in Pauillac, Château Mouton Rothschild covers 84 hectares of vines. The estate benefits from exceptional natural conditions, shaped by deep gravel soils, ideal exposure and remarkable sunshine.

The 2025 vintage :
Château Mouton Rothschild 2025 is emblematic of vintages that allow the grapes to reach optimal ripeness. It immediately reveals great aromatic depth, with very fine notes of small black fruits, blackberry and perfectly ripe blackcurrant, without excess; along with the characteristic, almost mineral touch of graphite which, combined with mocha, brings Mouton Rothschild’s unmistakable signature.
It offers a form of opulence through its fleshy, generous and intense texture, while retaining a certain tension and the restraint of great vintages in which the terroir prevails over the climate. The tannins are velvety, dense and very well defined. The omnipresence of sun and heat over several months of the year, combined with the freshness of the late summer, revealed the full nobility of the Cabernet Sauvignon grown on this unique terroir, which sits majestically at the heart of the 2025 blend.

100 Points
"Highest Cabernet Sauvignon on record (since 94% for the 2010 vintage), stately and reserved at first, then totally joyful. The right austerity, coupled with squid ink character and fabulous hidden depths that are going to take their time to fully unroll, with the incense of the oak coming through only after a good 10 minutes in the glass, you barely perceive it on the first tasting. What a beautiful Mouton, great stuff from wine director Jean-Philippe Danjoy. 52% Grand Vin, basically pure old vine Cabernet. And an interesting side note - in September there was no weekend picking, a clear indication that there was no stress about the harvest dates. 3.76pH. Harvest September 5 to 20. 100% new oak"

"A glamorous wine for the vintage, with mesmerizing perfumes of flowers, al dente fruit and citrus flowers. Black currants with some mineral and stone undertones. Medium- to full-bodied with ultra-fine tannins and an endless finish. The tannins lead you on a great trip. It is the most cabernet sauvignon ever used in the blend in recent memory. Balanced and structured. 98% cabernet sauvignon and 2% merlot"
