Château Phélan Ségur, the taste of the terroir

In the heart of the village of Saint-Estèphe, Château Phélan Ségur enjoys a privileged location overlooking the Gironde, on superb, gently sloping clay gravel ridges. While the Château may be of Irish origin through its founder Bernard O’Phelan, today it belongs to Philippe Van de Vyvere, a Belgian captain of industry and connoisseur of fine Bordeaux wines.

The property’s 114 hectares overlook the Gironde Estuary and enjoy natural biodiversity. Since 2010, Véronique Dausse has managed this jewel of Saint-Estèphe with demanding high standards and pragmatism.

The 2025 vintage

The intense and precise nose reveals notes of ripe black fruit, liquorice, spices and delicate floral notes. The perfectly controlled palate opens with delicacy and unfolds to reveal powdery, fine-grained tannins supported by a full-bodied and harmonious structure. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, harvested at full ripeness from our great clay-gravel terroirs, bring freshness, balance and length to the blend.
The 2025 vintage is a precise wine that faithfully and unmistakably embodies the signature style of Château Phélan Ségur.

96-97 Points

A elegant, refine and holistic wine. The shows depth structre and finesse. 65% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot, 3% cabernet franc, and 2% petit verot"
